OBESITY

Obesity is a chronic disease. As such it is a disease that must be managed much like hypertension and much like diabetes. It requires diligent and constant monitoring to be successful. Many patients who undertake a weight loss program expect grandiose results in an unrealistic timeframe. This expectation can lead to frustration and the individual becoming a dropout from his or her endeavor. Remember, you are managing a chronic disease process, there will be good days and weeks and there will be rough patches as well. Stress is the number cause of individuals not meeting there goals. Be prepared for how you will react when stress raises its ugly head, will you recognize it and regroup or will you fall prey to it. Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.
